Non-positively curved groups

Nicolas Monod

When a group acts on a non-positively curved space, the structure of the former sheds light on the geometry of the latter, and vice-versa.  This interaction is very useful for the study of specific groups, such as arithmetic groups or semi-simple groups, but also for quite general spaces, including Hadamard manifolds and many buildings.  I will present a few recent developments taken from joint work with Pierre-Emmanuel Caprace.
