In the last decade there has been considerable interest in the mathematical Physics community in the study of pardal differential equations on “fractal-like” spaces. One might, for instance, wish to study the heat flow on a polymer which is approximately fractal. For a regular fractal, like the Sierpinski gasket, I will describe the construction of what should be the Laplacian by probabilistic and analytic methods, and survey its fundamental properties
